One
of the most popular parks in Mansfield is Berry Hill Park, an area of
grassland with a large pond, woodland with many fine trees all with
nature conservation in mind. There is a car park, athletics track and a
cafe serving food and drinks at very reasonable prices.
In 2018 the former trustees revealed they could no longer maintain the
park and it would have to close, fortunatley in 2019 amid protests from
concerned Mansfield residents, Mansfield District Council stepped in to
take over the upkeep of the park indefinatley.
Berry
Hill Hall became a Grade II listed building in 1978, overlooking Berry
Hill Park it was built in the early 1700's for the William Bilbie family
with additions and improvements over the centuries.
In more recent years the Hall was sold and has since been converted into
residential apartments.
